Job Description

Concord Hill School, a leader in early childhood education since 1965, is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join our community of lifelong learners for the 2025-2026 school year. This part-time position (24-32 hours weekly) includes teaching Preprimary (age 3) through Grade 3 students, providing dynamic and developmentally appropriate art experiences that inspire exploration and creativity. There is an optional opportunity to work with our Cubs program (ages 18 months to three years) as well.

Position Details

  • Schedule: 24–32 hours per week, flexibility with days and times
  • Start Date: August 2025
  • Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000
  • Concord Hill School offers a benefit package that includes health, dental and vision insurance for full-time employees who work 30 hours per week or part-time employees who work 20 hours per week.  Other benefits include life insurance, long term disability insurance and a 403B program.

Responsibilities

The Art Teacher will design and deliver an engaging and thoughtful art program that provides students with opportunities for personal expression, problem-solving, and creativity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate, student-centered art curriculum for Preprimary through Grade 3 students.
  • Emphasizing the artistic process over the product to encourage exploration and confidence-building in young artists.
  • Exposing students to various art materials, processes, and projects to explore essential elements of art and design.
  • Planning art experiences inspired by collaborative school-wide projects, classroom curriculum, artist studies, children’s literature, and student interests.
  • Collaborating closely with classroom teachers and administrators to align art instruction with Concord Hill’s mission, core values, and curriculum.
  • Encouraging creativity and fostering a positive environment where students feel empowered to trust their artistic decisions.
  • Optional Opportunity: The Art Teacher may also have the opportunity to teach in our Cubs Program, a caregiver-child class for children aged 18 months to 3 years. This role involves designing engaging, age-appropriate art experiences that foster creativity, exploration, and meaningful connections between children and their caregivers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience teaching early childhood and/or elementary students.
  • Knowledge of child development and research-based pedagogical approaches in art education.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-bias education.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to building partnerships with families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
